Title: “From Surprise to Sustainability: Our Mexican Farm Welcomes a New Addition.”

Introduction

Hola, dear readers of El Canal! It’s been a while since we last shared our adventures living on our picturesque Mexican farm. Life on El Canal continues to be a fascinating blend of American and Mexican cultures, offering us daily surprises and memorable moments. Today, we are excited to recount a heartwarming tale of our recent return to the farm, where we were greeted by an unexpected, adorable addition to our family—a baby goat!

Our Life on El Canal

As many of you know, my boyfriend Carlos and I decided to leave behind our American lives and embark on a life-changing adventure. Our journey led us to El Canal, our very own piece of paradise nestled in the serene Mexican countryside. With its vibrant flora, tranquil canal, and rich culture, it quickly became our cherished home.

Our Goat Companions

Our connection with goats began when we first settled on El Canal. Eager to embrace local traditions, we decided to purchase two full-blooded Nubian goats from the Veterinary School at the University in Mexicali, Mexico. It was a decision fueled by our shared love for animals and a desire to be part of the close-knit farming community.

Tomasa and Oscar, our Nubian goats, seamlessly became an integral part of our daily lives. Now, Tomasa not only provides us with fresh goat’s milk but also offers companionship and a reminder of the beauty of farm life. Walking along the canal with them, we find peace in the simplicity of rural living.

The Unexpected Surprise

Our return to El Canal after a brief visit to Las Vegas was filled with excitement and anticipation. But this time, the excitement reached new heights when we discovered a surprise awaiting us on the farm. Nestled under a shaded tree, we spotted a tiny, wobbly-legged creature—a baby goat!

We couldn’t believe our eyes. How did this little one come into our lives while we were away? As we watched in wonder, the baby goat tentatively explored its surroundings, its joyful bleats filling the air.

Introducing Our Newest Family Member

Carlos and I couldn’t resist the charm of this baby goat. With its soft brown eyes and endearing clumsiness, it quickly captured our hearts. We decided to name him “Río,” paying homage to the beautiful canal that graced our farm’s doorstep.

Río is the son of Tomasa, our female Nubian goat, who became pregnant through artificial insemination while she was still at the university (we just discovered). This unexpected but heartwarming addition to our farm now means that we will soon have a source of fresh goat’s milk. Carlos is eager to take on the role of milking Tomasa and using her milk to create lotions, soaps, oils, and more. Soon, you’ll be able to find these natural, farm-fresh products right here on our blog!

Conclusion

Our return to El Canal was marked by the delightful surprise of Río, the baby Nubian goat who has brought new dimensions of joy to our lives. Our Mexican farm continues to be a place of wonder, growth, and sustainability.

As we look forward to our life on El Canal, we can’t help but feel excited about the adventures that lie ahead. Who knows what other surprises are waiting for us on this beautiful piece of Mexican farmland? One thing is for sure—we’ll be ready to embrace them with open arms and hearts.

Thank you for joining us on our journey, and stay tuned for more stories, updates, and the opportunity to experience the natural products crafted from our goats’ milk. ¡Hasta pronto, amigos y amigas!
